Ettus Research Releases Two New Products – CBX Daughterboard and OctoClock Clock Distribution System
Ettus Research is pleased to announce two new products: the CBX (1.2 GHz – 6 GHz) RF daughterboard and two 8 Channel Clock Distribution Systems, the OctoClock and OctoClock-G.
The CBX daughterboard provides continuous coverage from 1.2 GHz to 6 GHz with a real-time bandwidth of 40 MHz. The CBX is ideal for research applications with complete coverage of both the 2.4GHz and 5.8 GHz ISM bands where WiFi operates. The CBX is compatible with all USRP devices and is supported by the latest version of the UHD (USRP Hardware Driver). It supports half-duplex or full-duplex operation and timed bursts and re-tuning functions for TDMA and FHSS.
The OctoClock 8-channel clock distribution module can provide both frequency and time synchronization for up to 8 USRP N-series and E-series devices by amplifying and splitting an external 10 MHz reference and PPS (pulse per second) signal 8 ways through matched length traces. The OctoClock-G adds an internal time and frequency reference using an integrated GPSDO (GPS-disciplined oscillator). A switch on the front-panel allows the user to choose between the internal GPSDO and externally supplied reference. Both OctoClocks allow users to easily build MIMO systems and work with higher channel count systems that might include MIMO research, direction finding, beamforming, transmitter geolocation, and more.
